How To Exercise Effectively To Stay Fit And Healthy

It is obvious that proper exercise is critical for good health. Unfortunately most people simply do not exercise enough. There are two types of exercise and they are aerobic exercise and strength training. It is important to implement both of these types of exercise into your lifestyle in order to maintain a healthy weight.

For most people the excuse for not getting enough exercise is that they simply do not have the time to do it. One way to overcome this is to get your own fitness equipment at your home so you can exercise with both privacy and convenience. There are many effective workout machines you can purchase for doing aerobic exercise like a treadmill, stair climber or recumbent exercise bikes.

The recumbent exercise bikes have been reported by many users to be effective since they are comfortable to use thus you are more likely to use it more often and see better results. Aerobic exercise should be done three to five times a week for around thirty to sixty minutes at a time. It is important to note that how much aerobic exercise you do is based on how active you currently are.

For instance, if you work in a job that requires you to be on your feet and constantly moving around then you may actually not need to do any aerobics at all otherwise you might over exercise which can also lead to many health problems like a weakened immune system. When doing aerobics make sure you do not strain yourself too much and keep your heartbeat around the 120 beats per minute range.

Strength training is important because it helps to build strong healthy muscles. There are also many other significant benefits to weight training such as reducing the aging process. When training with weights make sure you always use proper form and always start with weights you are comfortable lifting. Slowly increase the amount you lift as your strength levels increase. Also remember that muscles burn calories all the time so this is great for the purpose of losing weight or maintaining a healthy body weight.

It is not necessary to lift weights every day. In fact doing a strength training workout once a week or even once a month can be effective depending on how much weight you lift. Remember that it takes your body a lot of time to recover from weight training exercises so make sure you are not overdoing it. One way to tell if you are working out too much is if you are not able to lift more weight than your previous workout. This means your body needs more time to recover so you can actually be stronger than before. Be sure to do both aerobic and weight training exercises regularly to help you lose weight, stay fit and feel great.
